Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme:- The Government of Telangana aims for the comprehensive growth of the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Classes/Economically Backward Classes (SC, ST, BC & EBC), particularly focusing on unmarried girls from these groups, who represent a marginalized segment of society.

To realize this vision, the Telangana Government intends to launch the “Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam” scheme on October 2, 2014, for all SC, ST, BC, and EBC girls at the time of their marriage to ease the financial burden on their families. 

The primary goal of the program is to offer financial support to newly married brides from SC, ST, BC, and EBC families. Under this plan, when the bride gets married, financial assistance will be deposited into the mother’s bank account.

This program will avert early marriages and boost the literacy rate for girls since only those who are 18 years old or older can participate in it. The Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme will further empower women and ensure their financial independence.

• The bride must be at least 18 years old when the marriage takes place.
• The marriage must be recorded under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or the Special Marriage Act, 1954
